The US Army Reserve Component Veterinary Corps, RC VC, is currently involved in operations all over the world.  From unit deployments to two week Annual Training missions home and abroad, the RC VC continues to support the Active Duty of all Branches of Service in providing food inspection, research and development, animal health care for working dogs and service member owned animals, as well as humanitarian relief to third world nations. 

 The Veterinary Corps is composed of:

                 Veterinary Corps Officers:  Graduates of Accredited Veterinary Schools when commissioned are responsible for performing and maintaining food inspection programs of DOD subsistence, maintaining health care of Military Working Dogs and providing veterinary service to service member owned animals.  They are awarded the Military Occupational Specialty, (MOS), of 64A, Field Veterinary Service Officer upon graduation from the Officer Basic Course.

                 Warrant Officers:  Warrant Officers are the core of the Food Inspection for the Veterinary Corps.  Advanced degrees and years of enlisted experience make these professionals the technical experts in food inspection.

                 Food Inspection Specialist:  The MOS of 91R, Food Inspection Specialist, is awarded upon completion of Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training.  These enlisted soldiers are responsible for performing food inspection on all Department of Defense owned and procured rations all around the globe.

                 Veterinary Technician:  The MOS of 91T, Veterinary Technician, is awarded upon completion of BCT and AIT.  Veterinary technicians assist the Veterinary corps officer in providing health care to DOD and service member owned animals.
